The Area

Discover the charm and enchantment of the last remaining village in Paris. Montmartre, the highest point in Paris, is crowned by the majestic white Sacre Coeur basilica, which looks grandly out over the entire city of lights. Behind the church and clinging to the hillside below, the narrow winding cobblestone streets and alleyways seem almost to have survived the relentless march of time. It is easy to understand how this magical setting served as an inspiration to the many famous artists, poets, and writers of the past as well as the present.

Location

This charming suite is situated on rue Yvonne Le Tac, in the heart of Montmartre's Abbesses district. This vibrant area is alive with the sound of church bells ringing, music playing, and café conversations. Here you will find some of the city's most authentic and desirable shops, cafes, restaurants, boutiques, galleries, and wine and cheese merchants. Easy to miss, but well worth looking for, is Square Jehan Rictus, tucked in adjacent to the children's carousel, and Abbesses metro. This tiny park contains a 430 sq. ft. mural covered with the words "I Love You" in 311 languages… a befitting tribute to Amour in Paris.

Place du Tertre at night

The Abbesses metro station is less than one minutes walk from the front door of the apartment. From here you can connect to anywhere in Paris. A little further down the road is Bus 95 which stops at the Opera, and at some of the most famous department stores in Paris, such as Printemps, and Galleries Lafayette. It also goes to the Louvre, the Latin Quarter, Gare Montparnasse, and the famous flea market at Porte de Vanves. Gare du Nord, is a short 10 minute walk from the apartment. From there, you can connect to anywhere in Europe.

Among the other sights nearby are the world famous Moulin Rouge, the artists' square at Place du Tertre in the photo on the right and the lively clubs and theatres of Place Pigalle.

Courtyard Pitcher

Leave the outside world behind as you enter the tranquil oasis of the cobblestone courtyard at this romantic, 150 year old apartment.

This studio-suite has been professionally decorated by Little White House.

The goal was to provide its guests with a luxurious and romantic retreat, reflected in the Montmartre style of living.

As can be seen from the photos, great care has been taken to the perfection of detail.

This unique luxury suite is full of small details and delights plus special handpicked treasures to add charm and elegance to the atmosphere.

Our charming retreat was featured in February 2008 edition of Country Living magazine. Click here to see the article.

Queen sized bed Living area

Upon entering 'The Countess', you will be bathed in shimmering light from the crowning crystal chandelier and two tall French windows.

Incidentally, this is called 'The Countess' because many years ago, a German countess actually lived at the premises.

The muted cream coloured plaster walls offer a soothing backdrop to the beautiful queen sized Parisian bedroom suite.

We have draped the bed in elegant, high quality Boheme satin linens.

To the left of the bed is an antique armoire to store your clothing along with a whimsical coat rack to 'hang your hat' and coat.

Bathroom Kitchen

A glistening, black floor adds pleasing contrast to the soft tones in the apartment.

The chandeliered grey marble bathroom with tub, rain shower and robes offers guests a relaxing and inviting retreat.

The toilet and sink are located in this room.

There is plenty of storage space for your toiletries in the cupboards and drawers under the sink.

The kitchen is petite and delightful with its mirrored cabinet doors, artwork, and treasures.

It contains all of the amenities needed to create culinary delights which can be savoured on antique Limoges dinnerware.

Although small in size, this apartment is big on comfort with a table for two offering a courtyard view.

Enjoy morning café au lait and croissants or an intimate, romantic dinner with wine from one of the last local remaining vineyards in Paris.

Chair Sofa

When you walk through the apartment door, there is a dressing table directly at the other end of the room.

This doubles as computer desk with high speed wireless internet access.

The loveseat has been placed on the opposite wall of the bed and affords extra seating space for guests when entertaining.

After a full day of exploring Montmartre and Paris, it is a perfect place to unwind and relax.

You can store your luggage underneath the sofa to keep it out of your way.

For us, Montmartre is a feast for the senses…a place to leave your heart and fill your soul…a magical storybook place.

After a stay in our romantic hideaway, we are confident you will feel the same way.
