The Area
Discover the charm and enchantment of the last remaining village in Paris. Montmartre, the highest point in Paris, is crowned by the majestic
white Sacre Coeur basilica, which looks grandly out over the entire city of lights. Behind the church and clinging to the hillside below, the
narrow winding cobblestone streets and alleyways seem almost to have survived the relentless march of time. It is easy to understand how this
magical setting served as an inspiration to the many famous artists, poets, and writers of the past as well as the present.
Location
This charming suite is situated on rue Yvonne Le Tac, in the heart of Montmartre's Abbesses district. This vibrant area is alive with the sound
of church bells ringing, music playing, and café conversations. Here you will find some of the city's most authentic and desirable shops, cafes,
restaurants, boutiques, galleries, and wine and cheese merchants. Easy to miss, but well worth looking for, is Square Jehan Rictus, tucked in
adjacent to the children's carousel, and Abbesses metro. This tiny park contains a 430 sq. ft. mural covered with the words "I Love You" in 311
languages… a befitting tribute to Amour in Paris.
The Abbesses metro station is less than one minutes walk from the front door of the apartment. From here you can connect to anywhere in Paris.
A little further down the road is Bus 95 which stops at the Opera, and at some of the most famous department stores in Paris, such as Printemps,
and Galleries Lafayette. It also goes to the Louvre, the Latin Quarter, Gare Montparnasse, and the famous flea market at Porte de Vanves.
Gare du Nord, is a short 10 minute walk from the apartment. From there, you can connect to anywhere in Europe.
Among the other sights nearby are the world famous Moulin Rouge, the artists' square at Place du Tertre in the photo on the right and the lively clubs and theatres of Place Pigalle.
