The Area
Our apartment is located in the fashionable Eighth Arrondissement, in the heart of the "Europe" district.
Developed in the middle of the 19th century, this quartier was a favorite subject of many Impressionist painters.
Our building, 3, rue Clapeyron, appears in the famous painting by Gustave Caillebotte called "Paris Street, Rainy Day".
The view outside the main windows is a classic Parisian vista of Haussmannien façades, and below, you can see Place de Dublin with its many
trees and cafés, bakeries and other small shops.
Location
Our apartment is located on a quiet street in a typically residential, very untouristy, Parisian neighborhood. At the same time, we are only
minutes away by foot, bus or metro from the many well-known sights found in the Eighth Arrondissement: the avenue des Champs-Elysées, the Arc de
Triomphe, the Madeleine, Place de la Concorde, and the luxury shops along the rue du Faubourg St. Honoré and the avenue Montaigne.
We are a short 10-minute walk from the Montmartre neighborhood with its trendy shops and restaurants and the Sacré Coeur Basilica. Also nearby
are the major department stores on the Boulevard Haussmann (Printemps, Galeries Lafayette). A short stroll away is the beautiful Parc Monceau, with
its colonnaded duck pond, jogging paths and children's playground. There is also a very good gym around the corner for fitness junkies.
The small streets off the Place de Dublin have many restaurants, boulangeries/patisseries, and other food shops. One block away, on the boulevard
des Batignolles, is a weekly outdoor organic food market - including the dairy lady selling a gazillion different cheeses. The daily outdoor market
on the rue de Lévis is also very convenient.
For trips further afield, there is a wealth of transportation options. Three metro stops are within a 3-minute walk of the apartment, including
Place de Clichy, with its numerous bus stops, cinemas, bookstore, and late-night cafés and restaurants. Several bus lines stop right near our front
door, including ones that take you right across to the Left Bank. Gare St. Lazare, a major transportation hub, is a 10 minute walk (or 2 minute bus
ride) away. And for the adventurous, there is a Velib station right outside our front door, where you can rent a bicycle with a credit card (provided
it has a chip on it like the European cards).
On the left side of the page, close to the bottom, choose 'Car
Transfer'.

Our apartment is on the fourth floor (the fifth American floor) of a beautiful mid-nineteenth century Haussmannien building.
It is, in fact, just across the hall from another 2 bedroom apartment that can be rented through PerfectlyParis called "Quartier de l'Europe".
If you are a larger groups and wish to stay as close to each other as possible, you may consider renting the two together.
The apartment gets a lot of natural daylight and is very quiet which should be just what you need when you need a break from all the sightseeing.
We have kept the classic French details such as moldings, marble fireplace and herring-bone parquet floors, comfortably furnished with a mix of
modern French and Asian furniture.
The main bedroom with Wedgwood-blue walls has a large, queen-size bed.
The second bedroom has two twin-size beds.
All of the beds have firm Simmons mattresses and white Egyptian cotton linens.
The dining room and living room are contiguous, with beautiful views through floor-to-ceiling windows.
The living room is furnished with a comfortable (non-convertible) couch, two leather armchairs, a plush Oriental rug and a coffee table made
from an antique door.
The living room has a flat-screen TV with broadband cable (including CNN) as well as a multi-region DVD player and a binder of movies.
For those who need to stay 'plugged in', the apartment includes a new iMac computer with Microsoft Office.
There is also a wi-fi broadband internet connection that you can access from your laptop.
For entertainment, we have stocked the apartment with several novels and French-themed books.
The dining table can comfortably accommodate six people if you should have guests visiting you.
The kitchen is fully equipped with all appliances, cookware and tableware including a combination washing machine/drier.
Upon your arrival, you will find coffee and tea in the kitchen for your immediate refreshment. There will also be some basic condiments for you
to use.
There is a large amount of closet and storage space for your clothes and other belongings throughout this apartment.
We hope you enjoy your stay in this apartment.
As with all Parisian apartments, we ask guests to remove their shoes when entering the home so as not to disturb our neighbors.
