The Area
The environs of Montmartre with a View offer an invitation to contemplate and draw inspiration from the many artists who have gathered in Montmartre. These artists have
constantly renewed the area's creative identity and bohemian feel. Montmartre with a View's location is the Paris visitor's dream: in the heart of the historic and quaint
Montmartre quarter of Paris, it is a two minute walk to Amelie Poulin's metro, Lamarck-Caulaincourt (Line 12).
The well known artist's square, Place de Tertre, is just up the
hill, close enough to walk to and visit some of the 298 artists creating and selling their wares.
For those desiring traditional Paris cabaret music and song, the historic cabaret Au Lapin Agile is
around the corner from the foot of the building.
Some of Paris' finest restaurants, cheese shops, and wine stores are in the neighbourhood, within a short walk of the flat. For those seeking a livelier ambiance, the
Abbesses and Pigalle neighbourhoods are a 10-minute walk.
Award winning Ferret Michaux is just around the corner down the rue Caulaincourt for haute cuisine that can
be brought home.
For chocolate lovers, the best chocolatier in France (2007), Arnaud Larher, is a short walk up the rue Caulaincourt.
Location
Jean Gabin, film star, World War II hero and Parisian idol of the 1940's, starred in more than 95 films during his film career.
For reasons that will quickly become obvious to visitors to Montmartre with a View, Jean Gabin owned and enjoyed this property for many years.
The Place Jean Gabin, named after the iconic Frenchman, is just down the street on the rue Custine.
Gabin's off-stage raison d'etre was a woman described as perfection itself by French poet Jean Cocteau: Marlene Dietrich.
The German actress was named greatest female star of all-time by the American Film Institute. The two met in Hollywood after the actor fled occupied France and began a torrid romance.

This charming penthouse nestled against the foot of Montmartre, with stunning views of the iconic Basilique du Sacre Coeur, affords visitors the height of charm and
romance.
You will live like a local at our apartment as Montmartre with a View is located on Montmartre's less touristy providing a very authentic experience all while allowing
direct access to central Paris via the metro and many buses just steps away from your door.
The flat enjoys no neighbours in any direction and is perched atop this elegant, Paris city-registered, 1920's Art Deco building.
Montmartre with a View's 15 windows bring 270 degrees of breathtaking Paris views.
The west facing windows welcome the morning light, while the east facing windows frame some of the most spectacular sunsets Paris has to offer, visible from the kitchen,
the dining room, the living room and, of course, the bedroom.
From the flat, enjoy views of the unmistakably Parisian rooftops, the majestic Sacre Coeur church and the capital itself.
The vistas unfold before you under the golden glow of sunsets making it cery romantic and intimate.
As the flat is tucked away at the end of a typical Montmartre 'impasse', there is virtually no street noise to speak of.
When you enter the building and go through the entryway then up the lift, the apartment door opens on to an internal stairway which takes you even higher above the
rest of the apartments.
This allows you complete privacy and tranquility in terms of the residents in the building.
Quiet and airy, elegantly furnished in wood and earth tones, Montmartre with a View is the ideal setting to set the soul at peace.
The spacious living room and dining room has 23 feet/7 metre vaulted cathedral ceilings which further enhance the feeling of being at the top of Montmartre.
Views from some windows are reminiscent of many paintings of the City of Light such as the view of Sacre Coeur from the window in the dining area.
Tastefully decorated with a mix of modern and period wood furnishings, the earth tones and parquet benefit from the endless light brought in through each room.
When you are in the apartment in the afternoon, you will notice that the sun often illuminates the living and dining room walls.
Everything takes on a warm and comfortable glow, making it hard to imagine a more beautiful spot to be in.
Montmartre with a View derives its name from the magnificent vista in the bedroom as seen in the photos.
The windows shown on the left of this photo are actually the dining area of the apartment as seen from the bedroom window.
Perched at the end of the flat and surrounded by nothing but sky, two of the bedroom's walls are covered with double paned glass, permitting
180 degrees of unobstructed views and incredible afternoon light.
This can be seen in the photos on the left and right side of the page.
For those that enjoy deep sleep, the roll down shutters convert this romantic nest into absolute quiet and darkness.
The bathroom and the kitchen are accessible directly from the large salon as seen in this photo on the right.
The large bathroom boasts one of the best views in the apartment and this can be seen at the top of this web page.
It looks out to Sacre Coeur and the Montmartre rooftops.
The view is framed ideally in the window as one stands under the shower.
Looking at the photo, it may seem even too perfect !
For those preferring to relax in the large bathtub, the view from the tub becomes an open sky and is the perfect spot to unwind after a day exploring Montmartre and
the rest of the city.
For your convenience and comfort on a chilly day, the bathroom has an electric towel warmer.
The kitchen is equipped with all of the modern appliances you will need, including convection/microwave oven and combination washer/dryer, with enough room to prepare meals.
There is a small sized refrigerator but, as the owner quickly discovered that the incredible cuisine just a few metres' walk away is quite a deterrent to spending too
much time in the kitchen.
If luxury and romance is what you are looking for, you need not look any further than Montmartre with a View.
