The Area

You will feel like a "Parisien" rather than a tourist in this part of the city as it is a residential neighbourhood to the west of the hill of Montmartre, off the direct tourist route. The shops, restaurants and amenities serve locals who live and work here, providing excellent service and value for money.

The charm, convenience and village-like atmosphere is backed up by fantastic local bakeries, fruit markets, butchers, wine shops, famous chocolate, supermarkets and a choice of local bars and cafes.

At the same time you are only minutes away from the superb sights at Sacre Coeur overlooking Paris. The historic and artistic atmosphere of Montmartre are bound to captivate you. You will be charmed by the narrow winding streets, it's cemetery and vineyard and the bustling nightlife of Pigalle.

Location

Rue Caulaincourt enjoys excellent transportation with metro and bus connections to all the main tourist centres of Paris. The Lamarck-Caulaincourt Metro stop is only 5 minutes away bringing you, in about 10 minutes, directly to l'Opera, shopping in les grands magasins (best large Department stores), the Madeleine, the Musee D'Orsay on the Seine and St Germain des Pres beyond.

The 80 bus route is immediately outside the front door and brings you within 15 minutes to the areas above as well as to the Champs-Elysees and the Eiffel Tower beyond. The number 95, just slightly further down the road will bring you to the Opera, shopping at les grands magasins, the Louvre, Notre Dame and St Germain des Pres beyond. Going in the opposite direction, the 95 will take you to the famous Paris flea markets at rue Clignancourt in about 15 minutes.

We have made arrangements with a chauffeur service to provide transportation from the airport to our apartments. They offer a discounted rate for PerfectlyParis clients.

You may book this service by going to our Special Services & Activities page.

On the left side of the page, close to the bottom, choose 'Car Transfer'.

WC & Bathroom2 WC & Bathroom1

Our flat is in a lovely old building in Montmartre built around 1910. It is 58 square.metres and very well laid out.

As it is in the turn in the building, two rooms are off square with two fireplaces which have lots of character.

When you come from the street through the big double doors you walk through a hallway and on the walls are original mosaics of four beautiful Parisian ladies.

Stepping out into the garden courtyard, you make your way to the next building, up to the 1st floor (2nd in North America) and through the door into a cool and peaceful pied de terre.

A small hallway with the bathroom on the right leads to an open plan living/dining/kitchen room area.

The bathroom is equipped with a toilet, shower and a combination washer/dryer.

In addition, there is a large window in this room which provides plenty of sunlight and ventilation.

Kitchen & Dining Area

The kitchen has everything you need to make a wonderful meal at home and there is plenty of counter space to prepare your meals which is a rare treat in Parisian flats.

A television, radio and DVD player are provided for your entertainment.

We have found a jazz channel which is great to chill out to.

There is a selection of DVD's, CD's and books that we have provided for your use.

Should you wish to stay connected to things at home, there is wireless internet access.

There is a lovely view of a second garden courtyard from this room.

Bedroom Bedroom2

You can enter the master bedroom through a door to the left of the window.

This room has a very comfortable queen sized bed and walk in closet providing plenty of space to store your belongings.

The walls have been painted 'French Grey' and the style is very Parisian.

As our flat is not on the street, it is extremely quiet allowing you to enjoy the muffled sounds of your neighbours as they get on with their daily lives versus the noise of the street and people passing by.

There is soft lighting of cherry blossoms on the wall for those romantic peaceful moments.

Sitting room3 Sitting room

The 'Green Room' is a sitting room with a sofa where you can relax.

Should you need to accommodate other guests, the sofa converts to a very high quality sofa bed to sleep 2 adults.

The view through the window in the sitting room is that of a charming maisonette. If you open the window here and in the living room a gentle breeze can be very welcomed after a day 'downtown'.

We always notice the change of air in Montmartre when we come up from the busy city below. The air seems to be fresher and cooler making it feel like returning to the country from a day in the city.

When you have rested, you can stroll along rue Caulaincourt and choose from a variety of great, traditional eateries and bars or down to Abbesses for a more lively evening.

Of course the crowning glory of Montmartre is the Church of Sacre Coeur which is only a short stroll away. Once there you can sit on the steps and look down on a stunning panorama of Paris by night and dream your dreams.
