The Area

Rue Caulaincourt is one of the loveliest streets in Montmartre. It has huge trees lining each side, making it seem more like a boulevard than a street. It was also the home to many artists in the early, Montmartre days: Renoir, Toulouse-Lautrec and Steinlen... The artist community no longer lives along the street, however, it has become one of the most sought after addresses in Montmartre. In addition to the beauty of the architecture and the greenery, you will be impressed at the amount of cafés, restaurants, boutiques, etc., that are in your neighbourhood. If you desired, you could literally spend your whole vacation exploring the shops and eateries.

Location

Metro Lamarck-Caulaincourt is no more than a couple of minutes away. In addition, the #80 bus has a stop almost in front of the building. This bus has a fantastic route: Place de Clichy and its movies theatres, St. Lazare and the large shopping centres, Madeleine and its gourmet food shops, Champs-Elysees with the Arc de Triomphe, Ecole Militaire and the Eiffel Tour and, at the end of the line, Porte de Versailles with easy access to Chateau de Versailles.

Entryway Dining table

The entrance to this classic Parisian building will impress you immediately with its grand, open foyer and brass name plates.

Once through the doors, you can choose to take the wide staircase up one flight to the first floor and your apartment or use the lift.

When you enter the flat, there is a long, narrow foyer which has access to all of the different rooms.

An antique stand with a marble top is the perfect resting spot for keys or other personal affects. A large mirror rests above of this stand.

The entrance to the living room and dining room area with its two grand windows is directly across from the front entrance.

No matter where you look, sunlight beams throughout.

This very spacious area, decorated in both antique and colonial styles, has seating for six at the long dining table.

Salon Salon and dining area

The living room has a large, sumptuous sofa as well as a classic love seat and a charming wooden rocking chair.

There is a fireplace across from the sofa to add an intimate, cozy feeling to the room.

The television with VCR, DVD player and stereo are located in this room.

There is also a connection to the internet if you would like to bring along your laptop for either business or pleasure.

Kitchen View from kitchen

When you enter the apartment, the kitchen is immediately to your right, off of the foyer.

It is well equipped with all modern amenities to make your stay enjoyable such as a stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher and full stock of pots, pans and utensils.

Parisians tend to do most of their socialising outside of their home. For this reason, it is very uncommon to find large cooking spaces in Paris apartments. This particular kitchen is a good size based on what the average person living here has.

Like most Parisian kitchens, this one is long and narrow.

We don't think you will mind that though as, unlike most Parisian kitchens, it has a view.

The window overlooks a patisserie which is open early and has a fresh selection of breads and pastries. You also have a lovely view of trees and a small square to your right. You may just feel like standing at the sink and gazing out at the Parisians running out with their baguettes and pastries.

Master bedroom Queen bed

When you exit the kitchen and return to the hallway, you'll see a door directly at the opposite end. This leads to the bedrooms.

The two largest rooms each have queen sized beds.

There are closets across one wall in each of these rooms for all of your storage needs.

Both of these bedrooms overlook rue Caulaincourt which allows you to awake to sun shining brightly on this tree lined street.

One of these bedrooms has a comfortable reading chair by the window. The other bedroom has a table which could double as a desk and an etagere with a display of objects from around the world.

Twin beds Bathroom

The third bedroom conveniently has two twin beds.

This is the perfect solution to people travelling with children or adults wishing not to share a bed.

There is a lovely wooden wardrobe at your disposal and a charming, brightly painted wooden chair from South American.

You'll see some unusual, eclectic items throughout the apartment. These are memories from the many places the well-travelled owners have visited.

In the same area as the bedrooms, there is a bathroom with a full bathtub and shower.

There is also a laundry room with both a washer and drier. The laundry room is also a convenient place to put your luggage so your empty bags will be out of your way.

The toilet or 'WC' is located in a separate room off of the hallway.

Although this apartment is full of all the comforts of home, we hope that you will spend your time experiencing the Parisian life bustling around you.
