The Area
The Abbesses neighborhood of Montmartre still retains a wonderful 'village' quality. If you stroll along rue des Abbesses and you will find dozens
of small shops with the best quality of foods, patisserie, fruits, charcuterie, cafés, bars & informal restaurants, all catering to the local
Montmartrois 'on the go'.
In addition to food shopping, there are a lot of boutiques where you can find some standard brands of clothing in addition to unique pieces created
by some of the local designers.
The apartment is just 60 yards from the Abbesses Metro or less than a two minute walk.
Rue Abbesses is always lively, day and night, and weekend street-markets add to its fun and variety.
Location
Line 12 of the Paris Metro (from Place de la Concorde, or St-Lazare station, or any connecting metro line) brings you to Abbesses. The exit is
in the middle of the Abbesses square, complete with a carousel for young children and an original 'Art-Moderne' metro station sign.
Rue de la Vieuville is north-east of the exit from Abbesses Metro as you look uphill to the Butte de Montmartre.
There is a metal decorative grill door inside the main outside door which needs a key.
On the left side of the page, close to the bottom, choose 'Car

Rue de Vieuville is a quiet, one way street that used to house the families who worked on building Sacre Coeur.
This apartment is located in the same building as our Abbesses Atelier but it is one floor above.
The layouts of these two apartments are conveniently identical but they have distinguished themselves by having quite a different style.
When you walk into this apartment, you arrive immediately in the large 'double sejour' which serves as the living and dining area.
The décor is very sleek and modern which charming touches of traditional French charm here and there.
The choice of colours and furniture selection project an airy feeling of space.
The walls are adorned with framed prints of sailing ships that were found at one of the famous French flea markets or 'brocantes'. The owner of
this apartment is, in fact, an antique dealer of glassware so if you are interested in what he has to offer, you can visit him at 'Les Puces de
Paris - St Ouen' or take a look at what he has to offer on www.antikaparis.com/mezzanotte/
The double sejour has a dining table to your right which can seat up to six people comfortably.
In the same room but on the left side, is the living area. It is furnished with a modern sofa that can convert to a bed should you need to sleep more than 4 people.
The two antique armchairs have been reupholstered with a contemporary fabric which has also been used to cover the cushions on the sofa. Behind
the sofa is an iPod docking station so you can listen to the music of your choice.
Between the dining are and living area is a modern, flat screen television with cable channels.
There is also high speed internet access should you wish to 'stay connected'.
To the left of the door is the entrance to the main bedroom.
This room has a tremendous amount of storage space plus an ensuite bathroom.
The ensuite has a toilet, sink and a shower.
The main bedroom has a queen sized bed for your comfort and has two windows that face an inner courtyard.
To the right of the entrance door to the apartment is short hallway which provides central access to the kitchen, second bedroom and main bathroom.
When you walk down this corridor, there is a large storage closet on your left.
This is followed immediately by the entrance to the second bedroom which has a window facing the quiet street below.
This bedroom has two twin sized beds plus built in shelving on the wall bedside the window.
You can use the storage closet in the hallway for your folded clothing and there is a retractable arm at the top of the book shelves to place
items on hangers.
On the right side of the hallway is the large, modern kitchen.
It has a large amount of workspace and all of the possible amenities you could need including an oven, microwave, three burner stovetop,
dishwasher and full sized refrigerator with freezer compartment.
There is also a small table should you wish to sit and have a coffee or tea in the morning.
Off of the hallway and after the entrance to the kitchen is the entrance to the main bathroom.
The main bathroom has a toilet, double sinks and a full sized bathtub with handheld shower.
This is also the room where you will find the combination washer-dryer, should you need to launder any items while you are visiting.
As with every room in this apartment, there is a window to allow you to get light no matter where you are.
The style and charm of this apartment are perfect for both a long or short stay in Paris.
The owner, who spends part of his time in the south of France, has spent a great deal of time and care putting on all of his finishing touches.
There is a feeling of the 'Cote d'Azur' throughout this flat which immediately gives you a relaxed and calm feeling.
We are sure that a stay here will only make you want to return!
